Paula Galguera Menéndez Teacher
Hello! My name is Paula and I’m a Spanish teacher. I’ve lived in the north of Spain ever since I was born, although that hasn’t stopped me from travelling (though not as much as I’d like).
I studied for a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature with a minor in Intensive Spanish Language Studies, a Master’s degree in Spanish as a Foreign Language, and a Master’s degree in Teacher Training for Secondary Education, Sixth Form and Vocational Training, all of which I completed at the University of Oviedo.
I’m a huge lover of literature and music; for me, they’re the best way to get to know a culture… apart from its food! (Just so you know, my favourite cuisine is Korean – I love spicy food!). Also, as a hobby, I enjoy learning new languages; although I am only fluent in English (as well as Spanish, which is my mother tongue), I also understand quite a bit of French thanks to my aunt living there.
As a teacher, my main aim is always for my students to be able to communicate and have the tools they need to understand the culture through authentic sources (for example, literature!). For me, speaking is essential, but so is reading comprehension – otherwise, how will you be able to understand the signs on your next trip to Spain? As I’m still a student myself, I’m constantly improving and updating my knowledge of the Spanish language, and I’m always fully committed to helping my students achieve better results, paying attention to even the smallest details.
I know that learning isn’t a straightforward process, but we can make it more enjoyable and improve your results!

Marina Medina Raya Teacher
Hello! My name is Marina Medina Raya, and I am a Spanish teacher from Barcelona, Spain.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I currently teach Spanish to students from different countries and backgrounds, from complete beginners to intermediate learners.
I believe that learning a language should be both effective and enjoyable. For this reason, I adapt every lesson to each student’s goals, interests and learning style. Some students enjoy conversation practice, games and interactive activities, while others prefer a more structured approach focused on grammar and accuracy. My goal is always the same: to help students feel confident and comfortable using Spanish in real-life situations.
I enjoy creating dynamic lessons using visual materials, communicative activities, role plays and practical examples that encourage students to participate actively and speak from the very beginning.
I also had the opportunity to live in South Korea for two years, an experience that allowed me to learn more about Korean culture, daily life and education. Because of this, I especially enjoy working with Korean learners and helping them gain confidence when communicating in Spanish.
I also love sharing Spanish culture, traditions, food and everyday expressions so that students can understand not only the language, but also the people and culture behind it.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy travelling, reading and exploring different cultures. I love meeting new people, learning about their countries and hearing their stories and experiences. This is one of my favourite aspects of teaching, as every student brings a unique perspective and makes each lesson different and interesting.
Beyond teaching Spanish, I love getting to know my students and creating a friendly and supportive learning environment. Every student is different, and I enjoy discovering their interests, hobbies and goals so that I can make lessons more personal, engaging and relevant to them. For me, learning a language is not only about grammar and vocabulary, but also about communication, confidence and human connection.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you enjoy your Spanish learning journey. ¡Nos vemos en clase!
Cosme Marrero Yarimar Teacher
Hello! My name is Yarimar and I am a Spanish teacher. I was born in Puerto Rico, but I am currently living in Spain where I am doing a PhD in Spanish: Advanced Research in Language in Literature.
I enjoy learning new languages and cultural exchanges, since they make you know and appreciate customs and traditions. During my bachelor’s degree, which I did in the University of Puerto Rico, I studied Modern Languages, focused on French and Mandarin. This preparation has helped me to know the processes of learning a foreign language and to be interested in it. In fact, my studies have led me to move around a bit and this has allowed me to get to know very interesting and enriching places and cultures. This kind of cultural exchange is something I greatly appreciate
My goal teaching Spanish is that students can develop oral expression skills by being comfortable with continuous learning. In addition, that we can practice the grammar and structure of the language so that a greater level of mastery of it is acquired. As a person who has learned and studied foreign languages, I realize how interesting it is to be involved in a learning process like this. At the same time I also know the doubts and difficulties that may arise during the process. So I hope to be able to help them continue learning more about the language. I hope our learning journey will be rewarding!
Maria Camila Vargas Teacher
My name is Camila, and I am a Spanish teacher focused on helping students feel comfortable, confident, and supported throughout their learning process.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a certification in ELE (Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language). I have over three years of experience teaching students of all ages, levels, and nationalities, and this has allowed me to understand that every learner has different goals, needs, and learning styles. For this reason, I always adapt my lessons to each student and create a personalized learning experience.
My classes are dynamic, structured, and supported by workshops that help reinforce the content in a clear and practical way. I also design my own materials, keeping them simple and effective so students can truly understand and apply what they learn. I pay special attention to mistakes, guiding students through them in a supportive way so they can improve naturally and build confidence over time.
My goal as a teacher is to help students communicate clearly and confidently in real-life situations. In every class, I focus on developing speaking skills while also strengthening grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Many students study Spanish for a long time but still struggle to speak, so I create a space where they can practice, make progress, and feel more secure using the language.
I also understand the learning process from a personal perspective. Learning English taught me that acquiring a new language takes time, consistency, and motivation. At the same time, it opens the door to new opportunities, both personal and professional, and allows you to connect with people from different cultures.
I’d love to be part of your learning process and help you feel more confident speaking Spanish.
Claudia Altamirano Teacher
Hello, my name is Claudia Altamirano. I am from Nicaragua and I am currently living in Spain. I am very excited to join your team as a Spanish teacher and to have the opportunity to teach Korean students.
I am currently in my final year of studying Educational Sciences with a specialization in English. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed a strong passion for language teaching and intercultural communication. I truly enjoy helping students build confidence and express themselves in a new language.
I have also participated in Spanish language olympiads, which helped me strengthen my communication, grammar, and language skills. These experiences taught me the importance of clear communication, patience, and continuous learning.
My goal as a teacher is to make learning Spanish practical, engaging, and enjoyable. I believe that learning a language should be a positive experience where students feel comfortable making mistakes and improving step by step.
Because I understand the challenges of learning a foreign language, I always try to create a supportive and encouraging classroom environment. My teaching style is interactive and student-centered, and I enjoy using real-life examples, conversation practice, and simple explanations to help students learn naturally and effectively.
I am also very interested in Korean culture, and I look forward to learning from my students while helping them improve their Spanish skills. I am committed to giving my best as a teacher and supporting my students throughout their learning journey.

Caceres Rocioar Teacher
Hi, nice to meet you! My name is Rocío and I’m from Argentina. I currently live in Buenos Aires, a city well-known for the huge number of tourists it attracts. I completed my Spanish as a Foreign Language (E/LE) teacher training at Buenos Aires Academy, which is certified by the Cervantes Institute. Additionally, I took a specialized course focused on teaching Spanish to students from character-based language backgrounds.
I’ve been studying English at school since I was a child, reaching a level where I can even work with medical terminology. At the same time, I started learning Korean as a teenager. That’s why I’ve been using both languages for six years now to teach my Korean students, depending on their preferences.
Over the years, I have taught students of all ages, from children to adults. I always focus my lessons on their goals, and through my experience, I’ve learned that these can vary greatly. Some study as a hobby, others for work, to prepare for the DELE exam, or because they need it after moving to a Spanish-speaking country. I have even taught two diplomats from the Korean Embassy in Argentina during their stay.
I’ve been interested in Asian cultures since I was very young, which is why I enjoy learning more about my students' culture during our conversations, creating an exchange with the Spanish-speaking world.
I hope to guide you along your Spanish learning journey and clear up any questions you may have.
